  1. What is Tang Soo Do?
    In Grand Master Kee's own words: "It is not a sport. Though it is not essentially competitive, it has great combat applications. It is a classical martial art, and its purpose is to develop every aspect of the self, in order to create a mature personality who totally integrates his intellect, body, emotions, and spirit. This total integration helps to create a person who is free from inner conflict..."
  2. Why should I train in Tang Soo Do?
    In addition to Self Defense techniques, Tang Soo Do will develop and teach you to have a feeling of security through physical fitness, poise, and grace. Most importantly, Tang Soo Do will provide peace of mind, a sense of self discipline, and self-respect. TANG SOO DO is a brotherhood and school of stopping inner and outer conflict and developing virtue.
  3. What is the age range for Karate classes?
    Anyone over the age of 4 is welcome to join. 4-5 years old will be in the Little Dragons program. There is no upper age limit. As many senior citizen black belts have shown, it is never too late to start.
  4. Will martial arts make my child more aggressive?
    We teach that the martial arts are not to be used as an offensive weapon, but rather to defend oneself in certain situations. Aggressive behavior is channeled into assertiveness to increase self-esteem, self discipline and build character. Our program also helps the shy develop self confidence and become more assertive.
  5. I'm Not Particularly Athletic. Can I Learn Tang Soo Do Karate Effectively?
    Everyone trains at his or her own level. If you are not used to hard physical training, that's fine. You will find that your strength, endurance, and flexibility increase steadily as you work out. We welcome students of all backgrounds and abilities. People who are physically challenged are encouraged to join. Tang Soo Do is very much a personal art and we focus on encouraging personal growth instead of comparisons between students.
  6. How much does it cost?
    You will receive 4 free training sessions before you make your decision about joining. The monthly cost is very reasonable with discounts for multi-month payments and multi-member family memberships. We can discuss those options after your introductory classes.
